Mikhail "lone wolf" Grabovski is among the top-30 in the NHL in assists this season, has 32 points in 42 games and is one of only five Capitals regulars posting a shot attempt differential in the black at even-strength this season. So unsurprisingly the Capitals have some interest in retaining the play-driving two-way centerman who was the target of a compliance buyout by the Toronto Maple Leafs this past summer.
From the Washington Post's Kate Carrera:
Grabovski is currently on a one-year deal worth $3 million dollars. As a result of his buyout, the Belarusian international will make $1,791,667 per season from the Maple Leafs through the 2020-21 season.
