The Europa League officially entered the knockout phase on Monday, with the draw for the round of 32 being held in Nyon, Switzerland.
Though the competition may lack the mystique of the Champions League, it always seems to deliver eccentric fixtures, and this season should be no different with several fascinating matchups on tap.
Manchester United and Arsenal, stuttering along to varying degrees this season, were handed difficult tests, with the Premier League sides set to meet Real Sociedad and Benfica, respectively. Sociedad currently lead La Liga, while the Portuguese outfit is second in its domestic division.
Elsewhere, a pair of league leaders will clash when French table-toppers Lille take on Dutch giants Ajax.
Here's how the draw unfolded:
The first leg for each matchup will be played on Feb. 18.
The return fixtures are scheduled for Feb. 25, with the last-16 draw taking place the following day.
