Two weeks after being inducted into Cooperstown, Ivan Rodriguez returned to Arlington as the guest of honor at a Texas-sized party.

In a star-studded ceremony Saturday night, the Rangers officially retired Pudge's No. 7 to honor his Hall of Fame career as one of the greatest catchers in history. Rodriguez's newly retired number was unveiled on the facade above left field at Globe Life Park to a roaring ovation from the sellout crowd.

As part of the ceremonies, the Rangers brought Rodriguez's Hall of Fame plaque to Arlington, and it was unveiled to the crowd by two Hall of Famers: former Rangers star Ferguson Jenkins and Rodriguez's fellow Puerto Rican legend, Roberto Alomar.

Rodriguez also received custom artwork and video accolades from former teammates and opponents, and had Saturday declared Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez Day by the mayor of Arlington.

Rodriguez's No. 7 is the fourth number to be retired by the Rangers, joining manager Johnny Oates (10), Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan (34), and Jackie Robinson's No. 42.
