It appears only Mother Nature can stop Shohei Ohtani.

The two-way phenom's third major-league start will have to wait, as Sunday's contest between the Los Angeles Angels and Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium has been postponed due to inclement weather. They'll make up the contest on June 25.

Thanks to the postponement, Ohtani's next start has been moved from Sunday to Tuesday, when he'll take on the Boston Red Sox at Angel Stadium, manager Mike Scioscia told Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports. His mound opponent will be former Cy Young Award winner David Price, turning Tuesday into one of the marquee matchups of the young baseball season.

Ohtani will head into Tuesday's game looking to build on his seven-inning gem of a start on April 8, his home pitching debut. The 23-year-old carried a perfect game into the seventh inning against Oakland and ultimately finished his night having allowed just one hit and two total baserunners while striking out 12 in seven shutout innings.

He owns a 2.08 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 13 innings pitched so far this season. At the plate, Ohtani's hitting .367/.424/.767 with three homers, five extra-base hits, and 11 RBIs over 33 plate appearances.

Sunday's game between the Angels and Royals was the sixth of the day that had to be postponed because of the weather. They were facing having to play in freezing conditions: It's 36 degrees in Kansas City, according to The Weather Network, with a windchill of 25 and 18-mph winds. On Saturday, the teams played through a rare April snowstorm that hit the western Missouri city.
