On Friday night, the Houston Astros lost a heartbreaking contest against the division-rival Oakland Athletics, and with Josh Reddick upset about an overturned call at the plate, the outfielder found himself in some controversy regarding his former team.

"Pretty tired of getting screwed over by reviews," Reddick said regarding the game-tying run scored in the ninth inning, which helped pave the way for Matt Olson's walk-off homer in the tenth. "It's upsetting when a call like that controls everything."

"Playing some meaningful baseball in this ballpark doesn't come around a whole lot, from a guy that's been there before in the past," Reddick added regarding Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, according to Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle. "It's a lot of fun when the fans do come out here."

Unhappy with how people reacted to his quotes, Reddick issued a statement following Saturday's loss which put the Astros and A's in a dead heat for first place.

The Athletics, who Reddick played 596 games for between 2012-16, housed 32,204 fans for Saturday's victory, one day after announcing 23,535 as the paid attendance for Friday's game.

Reddick was a key part of three separate playoff berths for Oakland before being traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers during the 2016 campaign.
