The Los Angeles Angels aren't going to rest on their laurels after reportedly signing third baseman Anthony Rendon to a seven-year, $245-million contract on Wednesday night.

The Angels are apparently pursuing a number of pitchers to significantly bolster their rotation. They're chasing free agents Madison Bumgarner, Hyun-Jin Ryu, and Dallas Keuchel, and checking in on Colorado Rockies right-hander Jon Gray and others on the trading block, a source told Jon Morosi of MLB Network.

Earlier on Wednesday, Los Angeles was said to be inquiring about both Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco of the Cleveland Indians.

Prior to inking Rendon, the Angels were connected to Gerrit Cole, Stephen Strasburg, and Zack Wheeler, but they missed out on all three.

Starting pitching was the club's Achilles' heel in 2019 as Los Angeles' rotation arms combined for the lowest wins above replacement in the majors (3.3) and the second-highest ERA (5.64), according to FanGraphs.
