It appears the Sacramento Kings' coaching staff will be rewarded for the team's surprising turnaround this season.

The Kings' front office is in the process of picking up next season's options for head coach Dave Joerger's assistants to align their deals with Joerger's, sources told The Athletic's Sam Amick.

Joerger is under contract until the end of the 2019-20 season after his option was picked up by the Kings in September 2017.

The move would bring some much-needed stability to a franchise that's come to be known as the "Kangz" due to its dysfunction in recent years.

The decision also demonstrated a united front in contrast to the reported disconnect between the Kings' front office and Joerger last November, although Divac released a statement in support of his head coach at the time.

Joerger has compiled an 81-126 record in three seasons with Sacramento but has the club at 22-21 - just a game back of the Western Conference's eighth spot - entering Sunday's play. The Kings are seeking their first playoff berth since the 2005-06 season.
