The clock is ticking on Steve Mills' reign as New York Knicks president.

Several members of the Knicks organization believe Mills will be replaced at the end of the season - or even during it - if the team continues to struggle, SNY's Ian Begley reports.

It's been another tumultuous year in the Big Apple, with the Knicks off to a 5-20 start. Mills fired head coach David Fizdale on Dec. 6 to the consternation of many around the league, who cited the franchise's seemingly continuous dysfunction as the main source for New York's abysmal start.

Mills has been the Knicks' president since 2017, when he replaced Phil Jackson. He served as general manager prior to that, beginning in 2013.

Begley notes Raptors president Masai Ujiri and Thunder GM Sam Presti have been linked with the Knicks in recent days as owner James Dolan comes under increasing criticism for his handling of one of the league's marquee franchises.

New York has not made the playoffs since the 2013-14 season.
