Report: Gordon open to move, hasn't requested trade from Rockets
Gordon, who turns 33 in December, made just 63 total appearances over the past two pandemic-shortened seasons. In that span, he averaged 15.9 points, two rebounds, and two assists per game, with 32.2% shooting from beyond the 3-point arc. The Indiana product shot 37.4% from three across his first 11 seasons, including as high as 44.8% in 2014-15.
Besides his injury struggles and diminished shooting touch, Gordon's contract status further complicates matters. He's owed $18.2 million this year and $19.6 million in 2022-23. (Improbably, he'll receive an additional $20.9 million for 2023-24 if his team wins the title in either of the next two seasons.)
The Rockets posted an NBA-worst 17-55 (.236) record last season, a result of boasting the fourth-worst offensive and defensive ratings. For their dreadfulness, they wound up with the No. 2 draft pick and used it to select promising guard Jalen Green.
