Report: Turner cleared for Pacers training camp
Turner missed 22 of the Pacers' last 23 games during the 2020-21 season after suffering a torn plantar plate in his right toe. The big man was on track to lead the league in blocked shots (3.4 per game) for the second time in his career before sustaining his injury, but he didn't qualify for the league's leaderboard after playing just 47 games.
The Pacers' defense struggled down the stretch without Turner, and the team's season eventually ended in disappointing fashion after the Washington Wizards eliminated Indiana during the play-in tournament.
The 25-year-old is entering the third season of a four-year contract worth up to $80 million with incentives. He's set to become an unrestricted free agent following the 2022-23 campaign.
In other Pacers injury news, forward T.J. Warren will undergo a follow-up exam Thursday on his left foot stress fracture. The team announced earlier this month Warren's foot isn't healing at the pace Indiana initially hoped, and he's still considered out indefinitely.
