Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard wants to receive a two-year, $107-million contract extension this offseason, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

The extension would make Lillard one of the NBA's highest-paid players. He'd earn a whopping $51.2 million in his age-35 season (2025-26), then $55.3 million as a 36-year-old (2026-27), according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.

However, Lillard receiving another massive payday from Portland is far from a foregone conclusion.

Multiple top-level general manager candidates said they'd be more intrigued by the Trail Blazers' vacant executive positions if they were granted permission from ownership to move on from Lillard, according to Wojnarowski. Furthermore, rival teams reportedly said some individuals within Lillard's camp were concerned recently-fired team president Neil Olshey wasn't willing to recommend a Lillard extension to ownership.

Lillard has made it clear on multiple occasions that he's committed to Portland long term, but his name continues to circulate in the rumor mill. The Philadelphia 76ers were reportedly interested in making a deal to pair the All-Star with disgruntled point-forward Ben Simmons, but nothing materialized. Now, three teams interested in Lillard are waiting on the guard to request a trade before partaking in any discussions with Portland, according to Wojnarowski.

Lillard has gotten off to a slow start to the 2021-22 campaign. Before a nagging abdominal injury recently kept him on the sidelines, the Trail Blazers star was averaging 21.5 points (seven fewer points per game compared to last season) and career-worst marks from the field (39.7%) and 3-point range (30.2%).

The Trail Blazers are currently 11-14 and 10th in the Western Conference.
