Orgeron after dramatic last win: 'I'll always be an LSU fan'
The Ed Orgeron era at LSU came to a close Saturday, but not before the energetic coach provided a final dramatic moment for the Tiger faithful in Death Valley.
Orgeron was all smiles with the result postgame, pledging his affection for his local school despite being sent packing just two years after winning a national championship with the Tigers.
"Whoever the new coach is, I wish him all the luck in the world," Orgeron said, according to Wilson Alexander of The Advocate. "I'll always be an LSU fan."
While things went south quickly following the national title in 2019, Orgeron's undying passion for all things LSU was never questioned. He entered the press conference following the victory in emphatic fashion.
Orgeron finishes his tenure at LSU with a 51-20 overall record and a 31-17 mark in conference play. While his final season in charge wasn't what LSU had hoped, the 15-0 national title-winning team in 2019 will forever be remembered as one of the greatest college football teams ever seen.
