FIBA announced Thursday new dates for the men's qualifying tournaments related to the rescheduled 2021 Olympics.
The four tournaments scheduled for Victoria, Canada; Split, Croatia; Belgrade, Serbia; and Kaunas, Lithuania, will now be played from June 29 to July 4, 2021.
In total, 24 men's national teams - six teams each - are set to compete in the qualifying tournaments. Seven teams already qualified directly for the Olympics from the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019, along with host Japan.
The Tokyo Games have been rescheduled to July 23-August 8, 2021, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
